IT IS VERY ADDICTING! So addicting that since my previous post, I've now finished 'Catching Fire' and have just started on 'Mockingjay'. Also I've heard that while still good, the books get weaker as the series progresses, I disagree. I enjoyed the second book much more than I did the first.

I've heard that they weaken after Catching Fire and that Mockingjay wasn't that great, but I enjoyed it. XD

Well I did it. In 3 days, I finished the entire trilogy. I can see why some people thought 'Mockingjay' was a step back. All that propaganda rebel nonsense was starting to get on my nerves a little bit. But aside from that I really enjoyed the book, and the Trilogy as a whole. I think my favourite thing about 'Mockingjay' was how much more we got in Katniss' head. Finding out just how much the Games and her childhood really affected her. How much both Gale and Peeta meant to her, and how important they were in keeping her together. Also, I felt so bad for Peeta throughout the series, but mostly through 'Mockingjay'. Just the thought of being tortured, manipulated, and turned against the one person you love is heart breaking. I'm glad that in the end Peeta got his happy ending, and I'm glad Katniss finally came around to loving Peeta the way he loves her.

Also, I can't believe how quickly I read that trilogy. The last time I was pulled into a story that deeply was when I was 12-13 reading John Marsden's 'Tomorrow' series.

I think I only read two series faster than the Hunger Games trilogy, but I'd have read it a lot faster if I hadn't.had to wait for the books at my local library. I could never check out more than one HG book because someone else always beat me to it. XD

Well I didn't like Catching Fire as much the first time around, but thinking on it more now, Catching Fire had some really great stuff in it and I appreciate it more now. The book that is.

Mockingjay I still find the weakest of the three. I liked it, but it could've been better if it was expanded more.

Oh definitely. I still greatly enjoyed Mockingjay, but the ending really needed to be spaced out and explained a bit more. Don't get me wrong, I'm still happy with how everything turned out and the events that followed, but it went by in such a blur.

Mockingjay spoilers (click to show/hide)Also I think another problem was the fact that since it revolves around Katniss so the whole aspect didn't work as well in Mockingjay because she was basically stuck in District 13 for most of the book. We didn't get to touch upon the war because of that. I'm hoping with the movie they can do a little more and show us that side. I'm also hoping they can expand the end as well. It felt a bit rushed, still a good ending but I would've wanted more out of the epilogue.

Ok so I went and saw the Catching Fire movie, and it was fantastic. There were a few small details missing from the book (as to be expected) but nothing that's really important to the overall plot. Also, after watching the movie and thinking about the books as well, I ship Peeta/Katniss so damn hard.

Spoilers just in case (click to show/hide)These two scenes in particular made we want to curl into a ball on the cinema floor and cry because my heart couldn't handle it;

Also, I read that Josh Hutcherson wasn't around for most of the shooting of Mockingjay part 1, and because of that I'm about 99% sure that the movie will end with Peeta choking Katniss and my body isn't ready for that.

I became a huge Peeta/Katniss shipper in Catching Fire as well. They are too perfect and I'm kinda in love with Peeta myself. XD

(click to show/hide)I hope they don't end it there, that would be just plain cruel. But that's probably why they'll do it. XDD

I'm definitely rather fond of Peeta myself. He's probably my favourite character, and I just want to give him a hug throughout the series. He was punished way more than he deserved.

I thought the first and second books were enjoyable, but the third book really lost me at the end. The ending just felt slapped together and out of character for me. :/

Overall, a good series though. Any series that gets pre-teen girls talking about anything but Twilight is never a bad thing, in my book!

Have read the first book and seen the movie...but meh, this is not for me. Found it very boring, and did not care to read the other books or watch the second movie. Also, the entire plot seems to be copied from "Battle Royale". Sure, could be a coincidence or something, but the the similarity is astounding. Just my opinion, though ~

I'm pretty sure that Suzanne Collins mentioned once that someone had mentioned the similarity to her, but apparently she's never seen it herself >.>

Of course not, it would be really bad for her if things were like that. But hey, I am going to write a book about a young girl who moves to her father and then meets a strange Vampire in school. Wonder what people would say to that :D.

But Jokes aside, I do not really care. Could be a coincidence or whatever.
