Book 3 in Japanese inspires fanart
« on: March 20, 2016, 04:53:09 AM »
So apparently Amazon.com is adding Book 3 of ATLA to stream online in the Japanese dub. Because of this I guess some artist (or artists, can't tell if it's by the same person or not) decided to commemorate that by drawing the series in a traditional Japanese style. And let me tell you, it's freaking awesome! Here's the link to the original page. http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=manga&illust_id=55850398

Yeah I dunno why I stuck them all into different blocks.

I sadly cannot see any of these. i'm pretty sure you can't direct-link images from Pixiv.

Dang it pixiv. Ugh, I'll provide the link to the pics. Sorry about that.

Edit: I uploaded the pics to my imgur, should work now. Still confused though, I could see the pics just fine when I clicked on them.

Right! Best Avatar fanart I've probably ever seen. Plus I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture and combining it with my favorite tv show is an immediate approval from me.

This.  And this.  And especially this.  :D  Lovin' the daimyo Iroh especially.

Indeed, he looks even more badass then he did at the end of the original series.

Is such a thing possible?  :D  Buff!Iroh was pretty, well, buff.

And Zuko certainly knows his way around a katana in these pics, for that matter.

Iroh was awesome then, but he wasn't wearing samurai gear now was he?

Well Zuko was always good with swords so it makes sense he'd have one in these pics.

I was thinking about that.  Zuko certainly knows his way around a sword in the first place.  And there's no arguing that Buff!Iroh + daimyo = Buff!DaimyoIroh > Buff!Iroh.  :D
