Winter Anime 2016
« on: January 05, 2016, 09:42:59 PM »
So the Winter Anime season is almost here (seems fast) with a good number of the anime airing this week so I thought I'd post the anime chart we got so far.

http://anichart.net/winter Here's the chart

http://randomc.net/2015/12/23/winter-2016-preview/ And here's a closer look at each show with trailers, better synopsis and info, etc.

I'll just post what I'll be watching and such right here.
(click to show/hide)Definitely watching:
-Fairy Tail Zero
-Dimension W. Totally forgot this existed, read the manga ages ago and I just remember really liking it.
-Rainbow Days/Nijiiro Days. Been reading the manga and I really enjoy it. It's definitely one of the better shoujos out there. Despite it's name there really isn't all that much homo subtext, it's not Free. It's just about a bunch of idiot boys in highschool and their experiences with romance. Dunno why it's only 15 minutes though

Very interested in:
-Musaigen no Phantom World. I'm a little hesitant on this cuz I didn't care for Kyoukai no Kanata. But it's still Kyoani and I can't help but be curious.
-Haruchika ~Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru~. This intrigues me, it's basically Hyouka with higher stakes and I think an ongoing mystery. Plus more characters and a romance, (I've heard a unique love triangle but I'm not sure that's true) and we might even get some music cuz it's about a music club.
-Dagashi Kashi. I dunno a thing about this anime other than it's about a sweets shop, it's a comedy, and there's a ton of focus on that purple haired girl. That's enough for me.
-Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage. It's a chinese webcomic with gods and probably martial arts. I like the sound of it.
-Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. I always like anime in different past eras and this one seems unique.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar . Read a little of the manga and it seems like a somewhat unique "end up in rpg like world" that's a bit more serious than others. Kinda liked it.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku Wo!.  Same as the one above it but instead is actually a parody that doesn't take anything seriously and all the characters are horrible at what they do. Sounds like a fun ride.

Mildly interested:
Norn9. I don't like Otome games but the setting seems kinda cool and I've heard the characters are actually likable. I also saw more females and that's a bit different.
Active Raid -Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hakkei. I dunno, just seemed kinda cool.
Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi. Sounds good but I'm not sure I'm up for a psychological story at the moment.
Phantasy Star. The poster looks cool
Divine Gate
Bubuki Buranki
Luck and Logic
Schwarzesmarken
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle
Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm
Ajin

Other:
Durarara, cuz I haven't finished the first part of the second season yet.
Gundam Orphans. It's a leftover and I love it so I'm sticking with the second half.

Just watched Haruchika, (that music club anime with mystery like Hyouka) the love triangle was very unique indeed, but I think it's a misunderstanding.

I'm almost caught up with the fall series I was watching.  The holiday season sure can make one fall behind.  XD

Yeah I've noticed that seems to be a trend with the fall series, the only show I was keeping up with was Gundam though so I had no problem. However I'd like to finish Noragami Aragoto.

Just watched the first episode of Musaigen no Phantom World. It was pretty dang cool so far. It's basically about youkai and people with abilities. There's a little more to it then that which makes it stand out and be original but I can't exactly explain it. It's kinda more in the bizarre/ridiculous supernatural way, like the episode involved doing the limbo but was actually very amusing and entertaining and made sense in context.

Well Noodles I know a bit about Dimension W and Hai to Genson Grimor and I can tell ya that those at least are probably worth being on your list.

I watched that too Fenix and I liked it a lot, but then I tend to like anything by KyoAni haha

Yeah I'm easy when it comes to Kyoani, but I do have a few that I couldn't enjoy as much as others. I did love Amagi Brilliant Park even. And honestly the main blond girl is basically Nibutani Shinka from Chuunibyou and Isuzu Sento from Amagi Brilliant Park put together. That's an automatic win for me.

That's a smart thing to do, I tend to just try watching everything, which doesn't work cuz I can never commit to all of it.

Watched a few other series.

(click to show/hide)-Stride. I actually really enjoyed this, likable characters, an girl actually playing the main, a really cool sport, and fantastic art and animation. It was fun.

-Norn9. Not entirely sure how I feel about this, I'm not a fan of reverse harems or Otome games. I was curious about the world setting though and I heard the characters were likable. Not sure I care about the main girl, she's the typical shoujo girl. I don't know if the characters are likable from an actual "well written complex character" point of view or from females who are into stereotypical shoujo. I did a little research though on the game and apparently there are 3 main heroines you can choose from which explains the other female characters. I may watch it just for them because they seem way more interesting then the heroine this anime seems to be focusing on. Or I might not watch this at all but keep tabs just out of curiosity.

-Active Raid. I like the character art and the setting but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the main girl, she acted like a know-it-all and was very preententious despite it being her first day. I didn't like how she kept getting mad and questioning these people who have been at this job longer and have more experience. They know mostly what they're doing, let them do it, woman!

-Shoujo-Tachi. Not too much went on but I kinda enjoyed it and I like the main female, she reminded me of Kuroyukihime from Accel World.

-Dagashi Kashi. Loved this, it was so freaking hilarious. Definitely got Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun and Daily Lives of High School Boys vibes from it, it's definitely in that area of comedy. Really enjoying the characters so far.

-Luck and Logic. Just really lost on the whole premise. Not really sure how I feel about it.

Tomorrow's gonna be fun, Most of the series I'm really excited for are airing.

What'd ya think of them?

Dimension W was as good as I was hoping, great art and animation, great action, great introduction of the characters, etc. It has promise.

Genson no Grimgar had great art and animation as well, a ton didn't happen but I thought it was good for a first episode.

Yeah I've heard a lot of good things from Boku Dake.

I'm liking Stride, Dimension W, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Nijiiro Days, and Dagashi Kashi the most right now. But there are a few others I kinda like as well.

Not as much as my usual list. And I'm not even sure If I'll keep up with two of them I mentioned, depends on if the quality sticks around and the plot doesn't go in a way I don't like (Stride especially, not exactly keen on possibly yaoi stuff in the mix, but at least it has a main girl.

Doesn't phase me. I can be into many fandom all at one time, been doing it for a long time so this isn't all that different. a women's mind is build to keep track of things, it why many can multi-task.

Now whether I'm actually keeping up with all of these anime, that's another story.
