Spider-man
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:04:24 AM »
One of the greatest heroes out there. And there is only one who can be Spider-man. And that's Peter Parker. And why do I mention this? It's obvious he's the only Spider-man. Well... Not anymore.

With Marvel Now! out, it didn't stop the creators from refreshing Spider-man either. Peter will no longer be Spider-man. The events of The Amazing Spider-man issue #700, the last issue, make him not be Spider-man no more. It comes out at the end of the month. Next month is Superior Spider-man. A new person has taken the role of Spider-man. We have no details on who it is. But, Mary-Jane seems to like him. He's her new love interest. Marvel got nothing but negative comments on this.

AND I WONDER WHY. I JUST. I CAN'T HANDLE THIS. MARVEL HAS GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME. TOO FAR. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM? WHAT IS IT? ONLY PETER CAN BE SPIDER-MAN. NO ONE ELSE. I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS.

I'll bet no one is going to buy this new "Superior Spider-man". Then when there is hardly any sales, Marvel will regret making this decision and bring Peter back as Spidey. Just wait and see. Just wait and see...

I sure do love Spider Man too. All time great hero.

But I refuse to read him again until Marvel atones for breaking up Peter/Mary-Jane. This goes beyond shipping, that was character lobotomy.

This doesn't help, but I could've dealt with it had they just let Peter retire with MJ in peace (or relatively speaking).

Next to Batman, Spidey's one of my all time favorite superheroes. I grew up with the guy.

This "Superior Spider-Man" sounds incredibly idiotic, hope it's a joke.

One More Day was a breaking point for me, too. "Let's have Peter retcon his entire history with MJ in a deal with Mephisto in exchange for keeping his elderly Aunt alive." That's a great idea and SO IN CHARACTER!

But I'm upset for even more than the MJ thing. JMS was writing an incredible run until Joey Q forced him into writing this garbage. He was taking the book in a brand new direction, and he had me more excited than I'd been since I was a child to pick up a new issue. To ruin the title when it had such a good thing going, just because he got divorced and wanted to live vicariously through his favorite character, was a ridiculously awful idea by Quesada. It's most likely the reason he's no longer EIC of Marvel.

I plan to stop reading after #700. However, I will say Peter had one hell of a run and a guy's gotta get old sometime. XD What about Miles? I find he's showing promise.

I can't really comment on the MJ thing. Felicia Hardy is my favorite Spidey-gal.  Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy were boring to me in comparison.

Yeah, I'm done after #700 as well. Well, he's not old. He's like 28. But something bad happens to him in the last issue I guess.

Miles is only in the Ultimate comics. Marvel said this isn't Miles.

Eh, not really. Iron Man is in his early thirties at least, and most of the older X-Men like Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Storm are in their late twenties as well. Spider Woman, Captain Marvel, Daredevil and Hawkeye are in their early thirties/very late twenties, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are in their late twenties as well. Doctor Strange is in his late thirties.

You're talking about Miles. He's from the ultimate Line, a Marvel AU.

What Natural Born Chiller said. Except the the Spidey's costume has black instead of blue. Which is also similar to Miles' costume.

So apparently Spider-man 700 is apparently the last Spider man comic.

(click to show/hide)not really

Thoughts about it?

Yeah, I bought it on Wednesday when it came out. I'm beyond angry. YOU DON'T JUST DO THAT.

You don't take Peter's number one enemy and switch minds with him and then let Peter's mind die in Dr. Octopus' body and Dr. Octopus lives on in Peter's body and becomes the new Spider-man. YOU JUST DON'T DO IT. It's disgusting. Wait at least a year. Maybe two to three years. Four max. Peter will come back. And destroy Octopus once and for all. He's always been my least favorite Spider-man villain. Even when I first learned about him.

I'm so glad Spider Man became dead to me after "One More Day" at this point.

Night, just jump on the Venom bandwagon with me. It's a hoot with Captain Flash Thompson, trust me.
