111-Skeletons in the Closet
« on: November 11, 2012, 11:08:04 AM »
Description:
General Iroh, grandson of the now retired Fire Lord Zuko, joins in the war against the Equalists. Meanwhile, the new Team Avatar is hiding in an alley where benders and non-benders seem to coexist harmoniously. Mako and Korra go to take down Amon while the rest of the group heads to take down the airfield launching the strike force that will wipe out Bumi's fleet. Korra finds out who Amon really is.

This was my favorite episode of the whole series, soley because of the Amon/Noatok and Tarrlok storyline that blew everyone away! Two most well-developed characters in the series, if you ask me!

What I never understood was exactly how Yakone, Amon, and Tarrlok were able to bloodbend without the full moon. I would like to know how they do it.

The back story was amazing nonetheless.

OMG, their backstory was so sad and I really felt sorry for both Amon and Tarrlok. And I'd like to know how that was possible too. Maybe it was just through intense practice? Or maybe Katara found out it was possible to bloodbend without the moon and therefore pushed to make it illegal? It's all just speculation on my part, but I'd love to know. ^^

true... If you look at it, bending was far more advanced in LoK. Firebenders could easily bend lightning. Something that involved peace of mind and balance. Bloodbending might've become second nature to waterbenders as well, I think...

True, which is probably why it's easier for them to bloodbend without the full moon now. But it could be any number of reasons. Yakone said their family line had a history of good bloodbenders so it could have just been a traditional thing that was passed down through the generations and all the benders in their families were prodigies that could bloodbend without the full moon.

Yeah, it could have. And Earthbenders were starting to more easily adjust to metalbending as well. I want to see Bolin metalbend. And taught by Lin.

Something tells me Lin would be tougher than Toph, but if he does learn metalbending, there's no one more qualified than Lin to teach him! :)

YES! I think it's a little... Annoying, to me anyways, how less powerful fire blasts and earth bending seem to be. Like when Bolin was ripping up the runways, it seemed like it was taking him too long. Then if it was Toph, Aang, Bumi, or even Long Feng, they would have easily sent a crack right down each runway.

true... I think it's because pro-bending forms are all they've trained in. Korra's earthbending is much more fluid... more powerful. :)

I wonder if it's because people were using bending for more everyday tasks, like lightning bending in the power plants, that the older styles of bending became less commonplace. And as divs said, they've trained in the pro-bending style, so that probably wouldn't have helped if they were fighting against people fighting using the old styles of bending.

Yeah, that all makes sense. I want to see the bending we saw in ATLA, but with these amazing new people.

Omg, it so would be! I think what I really liked about Korra so far though was the waterbending and airbending. Tenzin is mr. epic airbender and Korra, Tarrlok, and Amon know how to bend water.

She should! It's funny how Aang struggled so much with firebending, but Korra's so at ease with it and uses it more than her native element. XD
