Two "episodes" not many have seen
« on: December 13, 2014, 06:53:32 PM »
An unaired episode "pilot" in which Katara is named Kya.
https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=198675796850946

And a "lost episode" which is actually the cutscenes from "Escape from the Spirit World" game.

Have you seen these before? What do you think of them?

Saw them back when they were released, back when the pilot episode only was available with the voice-over commentary even :P

The pilot is lovely to watch because it shows off the series feeling so well. Ofc it's unpolished, but it's amazing to think that this video was the start of everything.

The Escape from the Spirit World vids are quite neat. Wish they had made it into a comic and included it into Avatar the Last Airbender: The Lost adventures, since as it is now new fans might have the hardest time in the world even finding out about them.

Yeah, I've seen both of these. XD They're not mentioned much, but I happened to stumble upon them and I think Nick even released the pilot without the commentary a while back, so it was nice to actually watch it without listening to Bryke...not that I don't love listening to them talk. And a spirit world comic would've been amazing! :D

Great topic by the way, not sure why no one else has ever made a thread of these.

I know all about the Lost Episode probably from reading spoilers and hearing about it from fans, I can't recall if I've ever watched the episode though. And I've seen the unaired pilot episode a couple times, it's alright but it definitely pales in comparison to the actual show. I do remember however that they showed clips from the pilot in the original trailer for the show and I was confused because I watched the trailer sometime after the show started and I noticed how different it looked and I knew none of that was in the show itself.

I might be able to find the trailer.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz7EsOua-D4

The Lost Adventures is a collection of short comics, right? Because that's what I have. If there's a Lost Episode, this is the first I'm hearing of it. ^^'

I think the person just called it the Lost Episode on that. It is the Lost Adventures but i think Nick turned it into a digital comic as well.

Oh wait, never mind. They are just calling it the Lost Episode there, I am right about that. It's called Escape from the Spirit World, it's actually an online but canonical game and the Lost Adventures are just physical comedic comics that came from the Nick magazine.

Yeah. Those are the names I always knew them by, so I think I confused myself when I read Lost Episode. XD

It's been so long since that stuff has been released that I couldn't even remember any of the names.

It's kinda interestingthat because some of Avatar merchandise was so weird and random that everyone has at least something kinda unique. Like I have the trading card deck and the Earth kingdom Chronicles book.
