Wow, look at how the series changed since The Lightning Thief. It is so much more mature, but cleverly masked with light hearted humour.

I REALLY hope the Kanes show up somewhere soon. I keep imagining a scene where Grover or someone sends the Seven a Iris Message with a super angry Sadie chasing one of the Stolls, who possibly stole her wand (chuckle)

*Waves Piper/Leo flag while waving Reyna/Jason flag*

I ship both pretty hard.

Of course Percabeth is obvious.

Nico/Rachel.

Thalia/Awesome.

But I LOVE this series.

Thalia/Awesome.

That's code for Thalia/Leo, right ;P?
The best posts I ever made were the ones I didn't make.

If I ship Thalia with anyone, it's with Luke, I suppose.

But I'd never respect Riordan again if he just used her Huntress oath as a way to get Percy to the Prophecy child. Which he did, but I'd be bummed if he just let her back out.

I do like many Thalieo fics though.

But I like Leo/Piper because it has some factual grounding, like Piper confessed who her dad was to Leo and Leo was very supporting. Not to mention they were actually friends.

Jason/Piper is flat and unfounded (like Makorra). I want to like Jason so much, I just feel he's flat. I always chalked that up to him being the Praetor/Son of Jupiter and thus having to be very calm and authoritative.

I really think if Riordan (I know this won't happen) wrote the Roman side of the Titan War, it would allow the Jason hate/dislike to die down at least a little bit.

Maybe now that Percabeth is occupied, it might allow Jason to really shine through.

I feel like every time Jason is starting to emerge as a character, Piper is there to smother it. He had some real emotional conflict in MoA with having to deal with not always being #1. Piper would comfort him... so she could make out with him later. I'd love to hear more about Jason through someone else's perspective, since he's typically described through Piper.

I'd like to hear it from him and Reyna.

Piper falls into the same boat. I always write her has being independent and strong, which actually gets me confused on how I remember her.

Jasper is just destroying Piper and Jason.

Jasper is just destroying Piper and Jason.

This sums up everything I feel towards them. But if they weren't together, then we'd have to listen to Piper whine and moan. Grr....

Everything you guys, Saxy and Geo, have said about Jason pretty much mirrors my exact thoughts.

It's such a shame because Jason has so much potential. Piper has put such a damper on his development that it's hard to appreciate her at all.

I had a lot of hope for Pipes in the first book. I thought the whole deal with her dad would shake her up and make her strong and independent.

And then Rick said NOT TODAY.

And Jasper came out. And Piper became a, albeit nice, Drew.

Honestly, the only time I really like Piper is in battle or when she's with Leo.

And on the whole Frank/Hazel/Leo dilemma.

Frank/Hazel is my ship. Never a second thought.

And as much as I love joking/happy Leo, I'd like some angst.

I know a kid who acts a lot like Leo. He's hilarious, but sometimes really obnoxious. Finally, he just became mean a day or so ago. He was like yelling at these kids who were trying to appeal to his joke/happy nature. He was in no mood.

I'd kinda like to see that with Leo.

And I really wish his thing with Nemesis was Leo begging to be the one to kill Gaia, and the cost would be really bad.

Yeah I remember when I first started Lost Hero, I was so excited for Jason. He seemed so interesting at first. It's a real shame I couldn't keep that excitement. I was excited for Piper too, but that ended the same way as Jason.

They both need a big overhaul.

Like I said, with Percabeth in the abysmal slip, it will allow for both (and the others, though they do fine oddly) to shine, break off Jasper mutually, and become better characters.

The only question is, will Uncle Rick use this opportunity to the maximum?

I can only hope.

We can hope, but judging by the age group it's meant for, it seems unlikely. Younger kids want happy endings and typically ship the obvious couples.

Too true. That's why I tend to gravitate more to writing young adult novels myself.

I like a little more challenge in my romance, which also might be why I don't care for Jason/Piper.

What I liked about Percy/Annabeth, is that we got a little challenge of them getting together.

Absolutely. As annoying as Luke and Rachel were (at least in my opinion because they delayed Percabeth) I really appreciate them.
