Episode 305: The Beach
« on: July 21, 2013, 05:34:27 PM »
Okay, so I posted before DW did his vlog XD. I don't get the hate for this episode. I thought it provided some good character development for Zuko and Ozai's Angels and a good action scene this Combustion Man. Not one of the best episodes but it was okay.

Other than the character development for the 'firenation teens', that scene with combustion man, and the kataang  breast touch(xD), I HATED this episode. It made me consider stop watching the show.

Gotta strongly disagree with you, Colt. This was one of my favorites because we actually got a look into Ozai's Angels' real emotional lives. There was a lot of filler, but it was nice to have filler WITH THE ENEMY instead of the mains. 4/5 for me. Plus Ursa was mentioned. Any time they mention her the episode gets bonus points from me. xD

I like those bits, but everything else surrounding it was just really stupid. (for me, anyway). I hated the beach scenes and the party where the characters were just acting like a bunch of dumb teenagers.

And I know they are teenagers, but having azula worry about attracting boys, or Zuko flipping out over some dude with bad hair flirt with his girl, is just a big 'disconnect' for me.

I didn't see it as Azula worrying about attracting boys, as much as her attempting to manipulate those who don't know who she is, to see what she's capable of.

Fair enough. This episode just rubbed me the wrong way for the most part. It's my Great Divide.

You know, I never thought of that. Yeah, I'm going through the show again. Kinda foreshadows what happens later, that she is not as "in control" as she thought.
