Files? That's odd. It shouldn't do that. Did you download it from the Google Play store? ^^'

I found a better app anyways, called GoComics. It's also an online site.

Tintin is a lot of fun. And they get exponentially less racist too.

I really want to read Tintin, but I think I'll watch the show first.

How is Tintin racist? (I have a feeling I'll be making the same argument in "The Last AIrbender" thread)

Oh no no, earlier Tintin is pretty damn racist. But of course, its an old series, so you can cut it some slack.

Yeah, it is. ^^' But, barring that, it's pretty good and funny. It's probably funnier when you're little because the racism is less obvious. I never knew it was when I started reading the comics; if I'd know, it'd have probably changed my view of them a bit. ^^'

Yeah, many old series were. Even if they are good.

I just looked up some stuff....And I can see how a good bit of that stuff would be offensive today. And I don't even mean 'Overly sensitive people offensive', but offensive. No reason to dwell on that now. Not like that would really bother m if I was reading it. it's in the past In the past.

Yeah, I can imagine a lot of it would be offensive, but I think it was geared to a younger demographic (though, I'm not too sure) and they probably weren't meant to pick up on it.

True. A lot of stuff back then was meant to be geared towards a younger audience, but had plenty of dark/crass jokes for older people in it. Even more so than today.

But like I said, It's kind of pointless to dwell on that stuff now. Tintin is still great.. xD

I'm sure it was geared toward the children, but here's the thing. The fact that the guy was even allowed to put that stuff in says something. That kind of stuff wasn't anything bad to the intended audience at the time. To them it was probably normal. Rude as heck, but completely fine to the intended audience. It's not that the racist stuff was meant for older people, it was everyday life for families back then. Parents taught their kids to be that way towards people of different races, that was probably the point of putting it in the comic.

But times have change for the better, and everyone is a lot better off because of it. (in most cases)

Oh, I agree! I probably should've clarified my post. ^^' I meant it's likely considered offensive and marketed to children now. I know back then, things like that were considered fairly common and such. ^^
