Wakfu
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:27:24 AM »
Okay, we really need a thread for this show because it's amazing and not many people have seen it or even heard about it, so it needs to be known!

What is Wakfu, you ask?

It is a French animated show based off an MMORPG called Dofus animated entirely with Flash (the animation is flawlessly gorgeous, by the way). It revolves around Yugo, the main protagonist, and his friends on a journey to find his family and find out what he truly is. (There's a lot more, but it's a little hard to explain, you'll just have to watch to find out x3)

All you need to know about Wakfu (click to show/hide)

Here's a clip from episode 1:

And both seasons can be found here for free download with English Subs. (The creators run the site, so they're okay with the downloads)

Also, there is gonna be a movie next year.

Now go. Watch it and love it and discuss it here! :3

Very interesting indeed!

I should get in on this before tumblr/fandom hype ruins it for me.

You should definitely give it a try, Spruce. It's really really good. You shouldn't have to worry about tumblr/fandom hype, though. It's not very-well known and Season 2 has been over since May of last year, so you should be good. ^^'

I've tried Windows Media Player and Windows Player Classic. I'm only getting audio from what came out of the torrent, and nothing form the individual episodes in .ass.

Wakfu is now on Netflix, so go watch it!! I plan to.

You may want to stick with the original French dub though, I heard the English wasn't so good. Of course that could just be people whining much like anime fans do.

Oh my god it's on Netflix?? Ahh I might cry! ;A; That is so awesome!

Also, I didn't think the English dub was out yet? But from the ads it didn't look very good. They pronounced the names really weird, and that stuff always irks me. :/ So please yes watch the original French dub it is the best!

Please tell me what you think, Fe, I'm so glad you're watching it! :3c

I will if I get the chance to watch it all. I'm kinda using a Netflix account I shouldn't be at the moment. XD

Oh by the way it is only season 1 at the moment.

I do know of other places to watch it though if I want.

Netflix only has the first season.

Netflix really sucks with a lot of shows. They won't have all the seasons on instant at the same time and then sometimes they'll only have like one season but it's not even the first season.

Well it might be that they haven't dubbed all of season 2. It's not like they'll never have season 2, sonetimes it just takes awhile for some reason.

Although I still agree. I don't know why but they only have season 4-6 of KND.

Why would it matter if they don't have season 2 dubbed yet? I checked and they put the original French sub on there so xD

They did that with FMA as well where they have like seasons 2 and 3 but that's it like what?

*Spoilers under block*

This is really weird. I just finished watching the first season, and then this thread pops up!

Anyway, I really enjoyed the first season. It kind of reminds me of A:TLA in the way that it begins goofy and then ups the ante in a big way. I never expected
(click to show/hide)a character death from a show that started as goofy as this one did.

Now the only question I have left after the end of the first season is
(click to show/hide)what is under Yugo's hat? I went the whole season just thinking it was a fashion choice, but then he had to mention to Nox that not even his closest friends know what is under his hat. Now I have to know!!!

Now I have to find Season 2 somewhere. I was really glad when they put the first season on Netflix. As soon as I saw it on Netflix this morning, I sat down and watched the whole first season. Thank God it's Sunday, LOL.

A:TLA Keeps:
Aang's Confession of Love in "The Guru"
Aang's Imaginary Wind-Sword in "Sokka's Master"
Aang's Chakras
Aang's Scars
Kataang Sexytimes
TLoK Keeps
Adult!Aang's Handsomeness
Jinora's Personality
Lin's Epic Way of Getting Dressed

Season 1 Spoilers (click to show/hide)You'll have to watch season 2 to find out about what's under Yugo's hat hehe xD

Also you're talking about Grovy, right? Jeez That was such a sad ending to the season wtf ;; He was a little annoying, but such a cute goofball and then he became this badass and *cries*

You gotta get to season 2 soon!

So it took a long time but I finally watched all of season 1. It took a few episodes but it grew on me fast after that. It's so good!! Holy crap I love it. Kinda sad ending but I know a little bit about season 2. It really grew the beard in the second-ish half, no wonder you guys went crazy for it.
