Lol speaking of my Shion cosplay, I actually got my wig in the mail today! It came early. :3

I'll have to worry about styling it later. xD

You look good as a blonde! HA!
It's actually white, but yeah. Kind of hard to tell with a low quality web cam pic xD

I finally got together my Olivia Armstrong cosplay. I still have to tweak it a bit (make her saber and sheath and finish making her military decorations and stuff), but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

And I have plenty more photos where that came from. l:

Oh my General. I am mesmerized by your power and…commanding aura. Yeah. That's it.
(click to show/hide)(I was thinking beauty for the second trait, but if it's alright with everyone here I think I'd rather not die. Thanks!)
This expertly-done set you see before you comes to TKC courtesy of SD’s Signature & Avatar Boutique!

I think the General is incredibly attractive as well as she is commanding and powerful.

If anything it makes more sense to me that she see your fear to tell her of her attractiveness as cowardice and a sign of weakness. xD

Blair your skills are killing me. Please consider my application to be your internet lesbian lover/biggest fangirl.

....and now I'm reminded I actually have a non-convention related photoshoot tomorrow posing as Black Cat and Power Girl. Should be fun. I think I'm personally having more fun doing comic book cosplay than I did with anime. but that's just me. probably because I'm getting more of a superheroine bodytype lol

there's some shots on my DA of the last couple of shoots I did as Black Cat and Harley Quinn :3 http://kyatto.deviantart.com/gallery/

I'm trying to decide on my next Cosplay. I really am.

Still no money to get everything together for Lulu. I'm thinking of Trying to Pull off Korra though I'm not sure i have the Body or face for it.

Do it anyway! Cosplay isn't about how much you look like the character, it's about having fun. The only time that should ever matter is if you're entering contests or something. C:

I wish I knew how to start. I have did a cheapo Sopck with the science blue t-shirt, black skinny jeans, Vulcan ears, while holding a plush tribble but it didn't really feel right.

Wow, you all have some awesome costumes!

I've never done any "real" cosplays, just some simple Halloween costumes in years past. Nothing as intricate as all you legit folks.

2010 as Katara (click to show/hide)

Also wore this to school one day on "Cartoon Character Day" for Spirit Week (aka, an open invitation to cosplaying. XD) I got one of two reactions: 1.) "Who are you?", or 2.) "OHMYGOSH I LOVE YOU!"

Made it very easy to find fellow Avatar fans. XD

2011 as Kikyo (click to show/hide)

Yes, it was a group pic, but it's the only picture of it I have. ^^"

Aaaaand that's it. :|

I very much want to cosplay at SDCC this year, but my finances are just so tight and I'm not much of a seamstress. I wanted to go as Asami at least once, though, because she's one of my favorites, you know? I'm trying to think of a way to recreate her more casual, on the go look. I'm pretty sure I could pull off the hair and makeup with my cosmo skills (just not quite as fabulous as the animation, of course. I WISH hair worked that way. ;D)

Also you can commission friends who are more sewing abled. Yeah, there are cosplayers out there who frown upon those who don't make every last bit themselves but at the same time your modeling skills get someone else's creative name out there. There's very talented seamstresses and tailors out there who could make fabulous outfits for not a whole lot of dough. My friend Jesse from hs majored in fashion design while in college and tried to get some extra income in by doing commissions. Unfortunately, a lot of people she got with were "friends" and tried to weasel out of paying entirely or not paying the full amount agreed upon. I get being broke, but at the same time a lot of work goes into these outfits. It's not fair to expect someone to make you $500 worth of work for $50.  She did some elaborate stuff too as well as a lot of superhero stuff. As someone who has been dealing with spandex a lot lately I can tell you it can be a huge hassle to work with.

Ugh, cosplayers who get pissed at others who don't make their own costumes and look 100% accurate piss me off. Cosplaying isn't about looking perfect, it's about having fun; the only time it should matter is if they're entering contests.

I cannot sew for the life of me, I learned way too late and there's no way I can ever make such amazing costumes. I'd do commisions, but I'm poor, so no way I'd afford that. So, I just go with thrift stores and making what I can. The onlything I splurge on are wigs. XD but they have good deals out there!

No matter how hard I try, I still can't stand cosplay. Nothing against you guys, you're awesome. But I look at pictures of cosplay, and I just feel like facepalming. Maybe it's the poses, but most of the time they feel really silly. I could never cosplay.
