But was it relevant later on? I don't remember.

In the finale I believe when Aang called upon his past lives and talked to Kyoshi.

I think I remember that. But she basically tells us everything that happened again with the exception of the visual and the name of the guy who was trying to conquer the Avatar world. We didn't have to necessarily know all the details, we could've gone without it. But it is cool that we got an extra mention of it.

Well we did get to learn more about Kyoshi in Avatar Day in general, plus we got introduced to the Rough Rhinos as well. So it had some relevance, unlike The Great Divide which could have been cut entirely and nothing would have changed with the story.

Mostly a tumblr issue, BUT. Passive aggressive comments about differences in ships, headcanons, or interpretations on symbolism in the TAGS on someone's art. It's literally the most childish thing I can think of in any fandom, but sometimes it feels too rampant in the Korra fandom.  UGH.

I don't really mind shipping clarifications in tags. Usually it's to point out to the audience of their blog that they don't ship the pairing they're reblogging but they still appreciate wonderful fanart. Often times when one reblogs an image with no comment in the tags, people interpret it as support for whatever the subject is. I don't mind clarification, really. Everybody's preferences are different, and so long as people aren't bashing the art in the tags, then I don't really see the harm.
AV IS FLAWLESS
I HEAR HIS SNARK IS INSURED FOR 10000 DOLLARS
I HEAR HE MAKES AVATAR COMMERCIALS IN TIAWAN
ONE TIME HE HIT ON ME
...IT WAS AWESOME

Yeah, if you see someone reblog your art and tag it as "don't ship" or something of the like, wouldn't that be more of a compliment that they still like your art even tho they don't ship it?

Unless it's really hateful like "Uuugh this ship is so stupid why would you draw that?" or "lol this would be SOOO much better if it was xx ship instead"

Forgot about the Rough Rhinos, was that also when Zuko ditched Iroh? And I'm definitely not arguing about The Great Divide. I swear there's more than one episode than that which could be considered filler.

Oh yeah, forgot about Zuko ditching Iroh. So it wasn't entirely filler at all.

Hm... A lot of season 3 was filler in some aspect, mostly the parts with the Gaang.

The Painted Lady comes to mind, unless there was some stuff with Zuko which I don't think there was. Everything else had at least a little importance in each episode.

Sorry guys,. ^^; I didn't clarify my statement well enough (I was exhausted last night,  lol.)
What I meant was people who ship bash in tags on art or say that someone's headcanon is ridiculous or other MEAN commentary about what they've presented - all put somewhere an artist might not see unless they click a post directly. So pretty much the latter half of what Quid said. XD

I didn't even see that comment as I was busy conversing with Ig.

But since you mentioned symbolism and we were talking about it earlier in the chat, I hate when someone makes a big deal about something symbolizing their ship when there's no evidence in canon that it means anything. I know we all hate that. Like colors, food, items, (sometimes it is important, but sometimes it really isn't) things the characters wear or do, backgrounds. XD Avatar fans always went way overboard with it.

Yeah The Painted Lady was filler. It was a bit of character development for Katara though.

And oh god symbolism in this fandom is outrageous.
