Favorite Villains
« on: October 24, 2013, 06:51:26 PM »
In honor of the theme change, let's talk about villains! They're so awesome!! What are your favorites of all time, across any medium: book, writing, television, manga, anime, comic, movie, theatrical play, folklore, whatever. Who are they and why do you like them?

To start off, I think one of my all-time favorite villains is (DON'T JUDGE) The Queen of Hearts from Disney's animated Alice in Wonderland, hahahahdfslhgsjdfhglks. She's so hysterical.

My favorite Villains: Azula, Captain Hook from Disney's version of Peter Pan, Giovanni, Nyx, Strega, Adachi and The Joker. I'll think of more as we go along.

He was always a little weird to me, but nonetheless a formidable opponent.

i don't consider Loki a villain in the mythology, but others do, so him, i guess. Crowley from supernatural is awesome, as is Luci. abbadon is awesome on that show too. the varia were cool in khr when they were villains. mukuro too. jareth from labyrinth..... Bartleby and Loki from dogma...... There's more, just can't think right now.
oh. Gabriel, when he was "the trickster" is always awesome.

cha02 has n0 name, n0 place, n0 gender......cha02 is n0thing and everything - unpredictable

Here are my Top 5 (I suppose games count as well?):

1. Vincent Smith (Silent Hill 3)
This guy is so cool and real, you just gotta love him. He is that kind of person who always stays in background and controls the events from behind the scenes. But what makes him really awesome is the way he speaks and his gestures.

(click to show/hide)

2. Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
Well, who would have guessed? All time badass Sephiroth is my second favorite. When he draws his sword, you know things just got real. Hell, he even has his own freakin theme music! I always imagine him walking in a dark hallway with "The choosen one" playing in the background. Nothing will be the same ever again.

3. Genesis (Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core)
A really awesome villain with probably the most beautiful weapon ever, just look at dat sword! He also tends to use lines from the LOVELESS book as he speaks, which really confuses people around him. But I just love that.

4. Amon (LoK)
Of course, how can I leave this badass out of my list? Look him in the evil eyes and you see what I mean. Pretty much unbetable (unless you are the avatar), and one evil mastermind who controls everything in Republic City without breaking a sweat. Heck, even bloodbending just makes him smile. How creepy is that? Could listen to this guy all day.

(click to show/hide)

5. Nicolai Conrad (Shadow Hearts: Covenant)
Even though Nicolai is not the main villain, he is very cool and always does what he wants. His "special power" also makes
him a very dangerous opponent as well.

(nods)  I liked James Earl Jones' Thulsa Doom, too.  That voice of his can do just about anything, of course, but as a villain, as that villain, Mr. Jones really did a great job.

I liked Heath Ledger's Joker, too.  He questioned ordinary decency and made you think about it with his explanations.  Very, scarily, plausible.

I just had a conversation with Quid about this - Cruella De Vil is the most evil Disney villain.

Her only motive is making a coat out of puppies, and that's terrible.

I was just trying to think of this, and I don't think there's a villain in Clannad. Like, at all. Maybe fate is the villain? Any of y'all seen Clannad?

So much this o-o

I also have to add Maleficent because her motive was not getting invited to a party.

And also Voldemort because obvious reasons xD

Hades from the animated movie Hercules. Jafar. Scar. Prince John from the animated Robin Hood, terrible villain but freaking hilarious. Gaston just kills me.

Father from FMA. The Homunculus. Dewey Novak from Eureka Seven because he's so unique. Jack Spicer from Shaolin Chronicles, he's also terrible but funny.

Freaking Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time, such a complex dude. Regina the Evil Queen and Hook also from OUAT.

I was just trying to think of this, and I don't think there's a villain in Clannad. Like, at all. Maybe fate is the villain? Any of y'all seen Clannad?

Dude, dramas usually don't technically have villains.

Not overarching villains but at least there's normally a bad person here and there. I can't think of a single bad guy or person of ill character in Clannad, lol.

I do too, but that's why he's a great villain. You're supposed to hate them xD

Like Umbridge too! I hate her so much she is literally the worst. But she's a great antagonist.
